MBITE: “Celebrating the Past, Creating the Future”, Callon Siebenhaler Presidential Address

Welcome from your MBITE President, Callon Siebenahler. I look forward to the opportunity to serve as your MBITE President for the 2016-18 term. We have a great Executive Team that includes Past-President Jean Kyle, State Secretary Tara Hammill, and State Treasurer Thomas Houle. The Executive Team will work hard for business education. As your President, I will also represent MBITE on the MnACTE (Minnesota Association for Career and Technical Education) Board.

I am proud to serve as President of an organization so rich in history. This year marks our 50th State Conference. Along with this historic moment, we embrace a new name and new Regional Structure. I am excited for the future of our great organization, especially one that embraces change. Our organization is strong because we can adapt, adjust, and lead.

As business and marketing educators we have many professional organizations to choose from. Please become a member in as many of these organizations as your budget will allow. Each of these organizations offers professional development opportunities to members.

 ACTE –Association for Career and Technical Education – www.acteonline.org/join.aspx
 MnACTE- Minnesota Association for Career and Technical Education- membership is included with your MBITE membership
 NBEA – National Business Education Association – www.NBEA.org
 ISBE  – International Society for Business Education  – www.isbeusa.org

This is a really exciting time to be a CTE Teacher! Awareness and support for our programs are growing. A strong professional organization is critical if we want to continue the momentum. Please encourage your colleagues to join MBITE! Feel free to email me anytime with any comments, ideas, concerns, or questions.
